As a university student with a nut allergy, I’m always looking for nut-free snacks to take with me to school. Unfortunately, there aren’t many allergy-friendly food options on campus, so I always make sure that my backpack is full of safe snacks in case I get hungry in class (which always happens…especially during those long 3-hour lectures) or during my commute. While I love making my own homemade snacks (EAF’s Breakfast Muffins are a favourite of mine!), sometimes I want something with no work required – just a simple grab & go!
The lovely people at Joseph’s Nutless Clusters were kind enough to send us some samples of their products, and I was so happy to try them out. The Nutless Clusters come in two flavours: Original and Chocolate, and they are made mainly of dates, brown rice crisps, and coconut.
I’m obsessed with all things chocolate, so it’s no surprise that the Chocolate clusters were my favourite! You can really taste the mix of chocolate and coconut in these clusters, and it’s absolutely delicious. They’re the perfect balance of sweet and crunchy (thanks to the rice crisps), and are a great midday pick-me-up to satisfy your sweet tooth. I also had a couple squares of these after dinner for a mini-dessert—I bet they would taste delicious crumbled on top of coconut milk vanilla ice cream!
I took these with me to school last week and happily snacked away during my lecture. Just a warning, they’re super addicting… I had to stop myself from eating the whole package in one go! In the future, I would love to see smaller, individually portioned packages-- it would make it a lot easier to take on the go.
Joseph’s Nutless Clusters are made in a nut and gluten-free facility and are free of both of those allergens. I’d recommend the Clusters for those with nut allergies, gluten allergies, celiac disease, or anyone else looking for a tasty treat J While the Chocolate flavour is dairy-free, the Original contains butter, so it is unfortunately not safe for those with severe dairy allergies. As with all snacks, remember to always double-check the ingredients and research the company to make sure the product is safe for you!
Joseph’s Nutless Clusters is a Canadian company, and if you know us here at EAF, you know we love supporting Canadian companies! You can check them out at https://josephsnutlessclusters.com or visit their Instagram page. Use code ALLERGYFREE for 10% off your order at check out! =)
