What it's really like to get a rhinoplasty
I Had a Rhinoplasty in Toronto
I had a rhinoplasty in November, 2020, in Toronto. Follow my journey throughout the whole process, from researching and meeting with surgeons to recovering from the procedure. I video-journaled the whole way through, so you will get to see my emotions, challenges, and successes in real time throughout.
If you’re on my blog then you already know this, but just to reiterate: I am not a medical professional and this is not intended to be taken as medical advice. This video is a short reflection on my experience as a patient getting rhinoplasty surgery by a plastic surgeon in Toronto. This video is in no way intended to convince you of plastic surgery.
In my rhinoplasty video diary you will see:
There are different types of rhinoplasties, so what did I have done?
How I broke my nose
The emotions behind it, and getting my family on board
Research, and determining the best surgeon for me
Preparing for surgery
Securing allergy-safe, compounded medications
Mental toughness, facing fear and anxiety
After-care
Allergic reaction
Bullying and self confidence
Am I happy with the result?
Where I'm at now...
5 Month Rhinoplasty Check-in!
It has been 5 months since my rhinoplasty (septoplasty and trubinate reduction) and I have received so many questions about what the process is really like, so I made this video to address everything.
In my 5 month rhinoplasty check-in you will see:
How my eczema flared up and why
The reality of recovering from a rhinoplasty - I did not look like myself for months
The brief garbage-y nose smell during healing
The weird feeling on my eyes for the first few days of surgery
My level of facial sensitivity
Was I nervous?
How did I choose a surgeon?
The level of downtime I required
What expectations did I set for myself? What did I think my face would look like after the surgery?
Can I now breathe through both nostrils?
and more!
